While the odds of winning a poker game are primarily based on skill, some players are lucky while others are unlucky. However, as the number of hands dealt decreases, the element of luck becomes less important. As a result, the expected value of a poker hand will be more or less similar to a normal bell-shaped curve.

A poker game is played using poker chips, which come in many colors. The lowest-value chip is white, while the highest-valued chip is red.
