Poker is a card game in which the player uses a combination of cards to create the best hand possible. It is an international game, enjoyed in nearly every country where card games are played.<\/p>\n
A typical game of poker contains a standard pack of 52 cards, plus a few cards called jokers. The cards are ranked, from high to low: Ace, King, Queen, Jack, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2.<\/p>\n
Players can also use Wild Cards, which can take on any suit and rank their possessor wants. These cards may be aces, dueces, one-eyed jacks, or other cards.<\/p>\n
The most important Poker skill is assessing the strength of each hand. Having good poker hands minimizes losses and maximizes winnings.<\/p>\n
In most Poker variants, a certain number of players is required to place an initial contribution, called an ante, into the pot to start the game. The ante is usually equal to the amount of money required to make a minimum bet in each betting interval.<\/p>\n
After each deal, a betting interval is held in which the active players can bet or fold. If no players call or raise a bet, the betting round ends and the active players collect the pot.<\/p>\n
A betting round starts with a player making a bet (called opening) or raising a bet (called raising). When a player opens or raises, the other players in-turn must either match that amount, or fold; they cannot call or pass.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
