This includes games such as sports betting, casino games, and virtual poker.<\/p>\n<p>The most important benefit of online gambling is the ability to win real money. However, gambling can also be a deceptive and dangerous activity. It is possible to fall into a gambling addiction that can lead to financial ruin. Luckily, there are several things you can do to avoid becoming addicted to online gambling.<\/p>\n<p>Before you begin, it is a good idea to understand the basics of what it means to be a gambler. This includes understanding the legal aspects of gambling.<\/p>\n<p>In the United States, there are two main federal criminal statutes related to illegal internet gambling. These include the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) and the Travel Act.<\/p>\n<p>Although the UIGEA is an act of Congress, it has been challenged on constitutional grounds. Some states have legislation of their own. Those laws may not be applicable to online gambling.<\/p>\n<p>As a result, state officials have expressed concerns that internet gambling could be used to bring illegal activities into their jurisdictions. The Travel Act has also been a topic of discussion.<\/p>\n<p>While there is no clear answer to whether or not a law regulating gambling is valid, the commercial nature of the business seems to satisfy some of the Commerce Clause questions.<\/p>\n<p>A number of other states have passed legislation that regulates the gambling industry.
